We flew over Mt Hood, Oregon, enroute to Honolulu (departed from Chicago). Carina brought her two bears, Florida and Misty, along. The Waikiki Beach in front of the Hawaiian Hilton Village was perfect for family swimming. It had clear calm turquoise water, probably the best swimming area in the Waikiki area. Carina felt comfortable for the first time swimming in the ocean. The lagoon-like swimming area was partially protected by the lava-boulder wave barrier. Beyond the barrier were some nice high waves enjoyed by many surfers. We had our first dinner at our favorite Japanese Sushi Buffet Restaurant, Todai.
