Big Island was a real treat in terms of its lush and flora. We were fortunate to follow a humorous (dry though) park ranger, who related interesting information about the plant life in the Volcano National Park. The 3rd-generation park ranger, Jason Zimmer (Carina likes his name), also shared a number of Hawaiian legends on the Big Island involving the Goddess Pele. We ended the day on the Big Island walking inside a Lava Tube, created by some underground lava flow. Lava doesn't respect anything on earth, no even the no parking sign.
